July 10: Departure Day, New York to Rome

Group Meeting:

At 7:00 PM, meet your leader and fellow students at the Alitalia check-in counter (outside of security) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This is the official start of your Putney program!

Group Flight:

The group will fly on Alitalia flight #611 departing New York (JFK) at 10:15 PM, arriving in Rome, Italy (FCO), at 12:40 PM local time on July 11 (8 hours, 30 minutes en route).

July 11–17: Pulicaro Organic Farm

After a brief orientation, settle into your time at an organic farm in the heart of Umbria. Get to know our hosts — Marco and Chiara, and their young daughters, Livia and Claudia — and spend your days sowing, harvesting, tending crops and animals, canning, cooking, and learning the inner workings of a self-sustaining organic farm.

July 18–21: Castello di Spannocchia

Travel by van to an expansive Tuscan estate and organic farm. Take daily excursions into the countryside, visiting Siena and Florence, as well as various farms, markets, and restaurants.

July 22–28: Pulicaro Organic Farm

Return to Pulicaro to prepare for the Final Feast on the evening of July 28.

July 29: Return Day, Rome to New York

Group Flight:

The group will fly on Alitalia flight #608 from Rome, Italy (FCO), returning to the International Arrivals Area of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 2:20 PM (9 hours, 45 minutes en route).
